Week 4 Post #1 MBA 6101 Chapter 4 - Level 1: Adapt

 

In Chapter 4 of "Surfing the Tsunami" by Dr. Todd Kelsey he explains the importance of understanding what AI is and how much its evolving around us and if we don't pay attention we may miss important information. In other words, keep up or be left behind. If we can scroll for hours on our social media platforms then we can take the time to read a 2 page article and stay up to date with trends and news surrounding AI. I myself, utilize Google calendar for a lot of my personal life, meeting, appointments and important dates to remember. Using that platform as your own personal assistant to remind you to take 10-15 minutes out of your day to read a news article is an awesome idea to implement into my daily life. I have to admit, I am not much of a reader unless the topic is something that peaks my interest. However, knowing that things are constantly changing everyday around me is something that I need to keep in mind. Unless I devote time to learn what that something is, I will be left behind and that's not something I want. 

So reading articles and books can only further your knowledge on the "know" and "staying in the know" but reading actual books instead of on your phone because why? Because we are easily distracted by other things like messages that may pop up and or a new post notification from Facebook or Instagram. As Dr. Kelsey says, books are to help you learn and give you that moment to reflect and take it all in. So off to set my reminders!
