Week 7 Post #2 MBA 6101 AI Advertising
In a recent WSJ article, a rental car firm enlisted the help of AI to expand their marketing techniques. Although it may feel as though you are relinquishing all your creative powers to AI there are some perks. I know sometimes I feel like I wished I had someone else make decisions for me and choose something as simple as what I should make for dinner. In this case, they are looking for easier and more innovative ways to market without breaking the bank in a sense. If a company can utilize AI to make marketing successful and it costs a forth of what it would normally be if they used actual people then why not?
The positives for this idea of using AI in marketing is that it will bring an abundance of creativity to the table and they will endless. I think as a business owner you have to take a step back and assess the situation and ask yourself, is this hurting my company or helping my company? If your answer is the latter then I think why not lean into something that can make your company successful and grow. AI is new and exciting to leaders all around the world and I think that on some level there is going to be some competition as to who is going to have the best outcomes and "wins" using AI. As mentioned in the article and with any new technology, it comes at a price. In the survey conducted on marketing professionals their main concern was the cost of implementation. Although this is a huge concern financially for companies, I think that if those companies want to utilize AI within their organizations then they are going to have to bite that bullet and jump in with two feet or they will be left behind.
